100th Anniversary of Poland regaining independence as part of the W Hołdzie Wolności Tribute to Freedom
On Saturday the 18th of August, members from Allegri music school visited the Clocktower centre commemorating and celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Poland regaining independence as part of the W Hołdzie Wolności Tribute to Freedom. It was a great privilege and an immersive experience to indulge in Polish culture and most of all music. Seeing the glistening and fluorescent colours of the performers as they danced was awe inspiring. With an official address from Małgorzata Kwiatkowska, the President of the Polish Community Council and from Bruce Atkinson, the President of the Legislative Council of Victoria the Piano concerto in A minor, Op.17 began, performed gracefully by Konrad Olszewski on Allegri’s own piano lent to the concert, was canorous. The Polish music was divergent of typical western music but nevertheless phenomenal, with two concerts performing -one at the Clocktower centre Melbourne, Moonee Ponds and the other at the Drum theatre Dandenong of which President of Poland Andrzej Duda was present.
